About Us
Founded in 2007 by Joana Li & Sean McInnes, The Accounting Society of Kwantlen
was formed as Kwantlen’s sole accounting club – for KPU students, by KPU students.
Today, The ASK is known as The Accounting Students of Kwantlen.
The ASK's initial objective is unchanged - to help students learn about the field of
accounting and opportunities available upon graduation. We engage our members by
fostering continuous skill development with resources, social connection, and events.
Mission: broaden the understanding of our student body, beyond the classroom.
Fostering personal development through collaboration with peers, conversation with industry professionals,
delivery of events, workshops, and updates on our sponsors - as a gateway to the accounting community.
Vision: to expand the understanding and potential of all students.
Using our platform to connect sponsors, with a well-equipped, curious, and engaged accounting body.
Core Values of ASK:
-
Integrity
We uphold the highest ethical standards in everything we do — in accounting, leadership, and collaboration. Trust and transparency are the foundation of our community.
-
Inclusivity
We welcome and celebrate diverse perspectives. Every student, regardless of background or experience, has a place in our club and something valuable to contribute.
-
Growth
We are committed to continuous learning and development — academically, professionally, and personally. Our club provides resources, events, and support to help members reach their full potential.
